I do my best to start each day with a warm glass of water with lemon, turmeric, and cayenne. Then I have my daily smoothie. Starting my day off with blended fruit and veggies gives me that little extra push in the morning.
I love that you can pack a smoothie with tons of vegetables and probiotics while still feeling like you are giving yourself a treat. I make virtually the same smoothie every morning with a few changes here or there. The fruit is usually what changes and I use whatever fresh and frozen fruit I bought that week.
This smoothie was such a nice treat because it has frozen cherries in it. The cherries added a beautiful bright color to my smoothie and it truly got me excited for the day. Smoothies are one of the simplest ways to add to your own picture of health. You can make them ahead of time and have them ready for you. Or you can incorporate it into your morning routine like I have.
We deserve and owe it to ourselves to be caring and thoughtful towards our bodies. If we take an extra 5 minutes a day to dedicate to healing our bodies it can make all the difference.
These smoothies have become almost moving meditation for me. I could make it with my eyes closed and it gives me a couple extra minutes to reset and begin my day.
This recipe serves more than one or for more than one day!
- 1/3 cup of coconut water
- 1/3 cup of coconut/almond milk
- 1/2 cup of frozen fruit
- 1/2 of an avocado
- 1/2 of a banana
- 1/2 cup of fresh fruit
- 1/2 cup of fresh spinach leaves
- 1/2 cup of kale
- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed meal
- 1 scoop of green vibrance by Vibrant Health
In a high-powered blender, pour all of these ingredients in order. Blend until you have reached a smooth and creamy consistency. If you find that your smoothie is not blending you can always add more liquid to help break it down. Otherwise, when you have reached a smooth texture, you can serve in your favorite glass and start your day off right!
