Hi! I’m Maggie and I am a Jersey girl, born and raised. I was lucky enough to grow up in a family as talented in the kitchen as they were performing on stage. My favorite memories are of being in my tiny little kitchen with my not so tiny family cooking! Home cooked meals have been a thread of connection between my family for many generations. So, I am here to share with you some of my and my families own recipes.
At age 13, my father passed away of a sudden heart attack. From that moment on we as a family decided to take ownership of what we put in our bodies. We made a conscious and concerted effort to feed ourselves both physically and mentally with the best things we could find. I have been a pescatarian for about 8 years and have honestly never felt better. A lot of what you will find here will be my own pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free recipes.
Disclaimer*** I am not one of those health nuts that will tell you that french fries are the devil or that alcohol is the enemy. Let’s be clear, my body is as full of Chardonnay as it is Kale. After all, life is about balance not about limiting or punishing ourselves. I want everyone to see an accessible way to live a healthy lifestyle without feeling guilt for it. No numbers to calculate if you are “on track”, but rather full meals with flavor, color, and most of all fun!
I want to continue my families tradition of bringing people around the table. When we eat good food surrounded by good people, we can truly grow and connect. These recipes can be adjusted in anyways you see fit and I would love to see how your creations come out. I am so excited to go on this journey with all of you.
